Mr. Gareth Croft (Director)

Gareth is the Managing Director and Principal Consultant at Human Systems Integration Ltd. Gareth has been delivering Human Sciences research and Human Factors Integration in Defence and Security since 2004. Gareth has a strong background in Defence and Security having previously worked at the Defence Science and Technology Laboratory [dstl] and QinetiQ. Gareth's key skill is working within multi-disciplinary teams to deliver complex research and consultancy projects. Gareth has technically led numerous human sciences research programmes across MOD and other government departments. As the HFI Manager for Trusted Borders, a consortium tasked with delivery of the UK's electronic border system, Gareth was responsible for ensuring Human Factors was integrated across the £1Bn programme, delivering a usable and efficient Human Computer Interface, the Control Room Design and the Task and organisational modelling. Gareth also led a team which delivered high fidelity experimental data to establish a standard for Security X-rays screen configuration for UK Airports, on behalf of the Dept. for Transport (DfT). This standard has now been adopted by the entire European Union.
Gareth has represented the UK on two international research collaboration panels: NATO RTO SAS_060 panel on Non-Lethal Weapon (NLW) Effectiveness and the TTCP AG22 panel on NLW Human Effects. He was awarded the NATO RTO Scientific Achievement award in 2008 for his work in this sphere.
